MURRI WATCH - Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Corporation

Community Patrol

Community Patrol Program provides personal support and transport for homeless and intoxicated people in public spaces, provides transport to a place of safety so that our people are not vulnerable sleeping rough on the streets, and delivers an effective outreach and referral service to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in Townsville and Mackay.

Community Patrol conducts regular foot patrols and vehicle patrols throughout the Mackay CBD and outer areas to offer information services, support or transportation to a safe place for community members.

Townsville Community Patrol continues to excel and exceed targets. The Community Patrol provides an unsurpassed, unmatched service to our most vulnerable clients in the Townsville area. Knowing that we have all public parks and areas clear at the end of each evening and that our clients have been transported to a place of safety is rewarding.
