Youth Services Program

Supporting young people and children is custody

Under Murri Watch’s Youth Support Program, our Youth Support Workers visit the Watchhouses to observe the health and well-being of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people and children in custody and offer assistance to notify family members and to assist in the communication and understanding between young people in custody, watchhouse staff, and other agencies and persons.

Additionally, Youth Support Workers visit clients in the watchhouses to provide clients with company, reassurance and assistance to convey messages for the clients, particularly between family and or legal support services
